StreamLine

Inspiration

We noticed that streamers have a hard time keeping up with chat while they are focused on playing games or talking to their audience. When chat starts moving really fast, important questions and helpful feedback can get buried under hundreds of other messages. We wanted to build an AI tool that helps streamers stay connected with their viewers without having to constantly watch chat themselves.

What it does

StreamLine is an AI assistant that watches a streamer's live chat and helps organize what is happening. It groups repeated messages together, highlights important questions, points out topics that lots of viewers are talking about, and helps moderators notice messages that may need attention. Everything is shown in a simple chat-style interface so streamers can quickly understand what's going on without getting overwhelmed.

How we built it

We built StreamLine using web technologies along with AI models that analyze live chat messages. We designed the interface to feel familiar by making it look similar to a messaging app, so it would be easy for streamers to use while they were live. We also spent time making sure the app could keep up with new chat messages and stay easy to use as we added more features.

Challenges we ran into

One of our biggest challenges was teaching the AI which messages were actually important. At first it either highlighted too many messages or missed questions that we thought should have been shown, so we spent a lot of time adjusting it. We also changed the interface a few times because we wanted it to be simple enough for streamers to understand with just a quick glance.

What's next for StreamLine

We're proud that we built something that solves a real problem for streamers. In the future, we'd like to let users customize what kinds of messages they want the AI to highlight and add support for more streaming platforms. We also want to keep improving the AI so it gives even better summaries and helps streamers interact with their communities more easily.
