Stream was inspired by the frustration many people face when trying to stay hydrated throughout the day. We wanted to create a smart water bottle that makes hydration intuitive, engaging, and effortless, blending technology with everyday routines.

Throughout this project, we learned a lot about product design, and user experience. We explored how to display information clearly on a small device, design a minimalist interface, and incorporate real time feedback to encourage healthy habits. We also gained hands on experience with mockups, interface layout, and thinking critically about how users interact with technology.

We built Stream by first conceptualizing the bottle’s design and its unique features, like real time hydration tracking, animated feedback, and a frameless LED display. We then translated these ideas into visual mockups and interface layouts, carefully considering usability, aesthetics, and the emotional connection users would feel when using the bottle.

The biggest challenges we faced were balancing functionality with simplicity and designing feedback that is motivating but not overwhelming. It was also a challenge to visualize data like hydration percentages and integrate playful elements, like the animated fish, in a way that felt seamless and natural, while staying cost efficient. Overcoming these challenges taught us the importance of iteration, usercentered design, and thoughtful attention to small details.
