Inspiration

With over 71% of college students being subscribed to one or more streaming services, many times one loses track of what they are signed up for. This app will help promote financial literacy for these students, and assist in keeping track of these subscriptions.

What it does

The Stream Bill application will display all of the current streaming service subscriptions of the connected bank account, having functionality to seeing total amount spent and cancelation methods.

How we built it

This project is an Android application built with Android Studios, and the primary language used was Kotlin.

Challenges we ran into

Working by myself, I had to set up a structure for completing a minimal viable product by the conclusion of the hackathon. Working on the XML design first and how the Activitie's UI will look, then transitioning to the Kotlin code to make sure I met the deadlines I set.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am happy I was able to accomplish most of my deliverables by the conclusion of the hackathon. Learning how to dynamically inflate new Activities, with information passed from the main Activity.

What we learned

I was able to Dive Deep into the inflation of multiple Views/Activities, while programmatically creating new Activities with information passed to it.

What's next for Stream Bill

Being able to access customer Bank API's to make the data displayed accurate with their current subscriptions, and set up a database for customers to sign up/ store information. Implement more visuals for displaying the subscription data, such as graphs and pie charts.
