This idea came about when one of our teammates was sitting on a couch at home, watching tv, and she was craving for ice cream. She didn’t want to walk all the way to Trader Joe’s just to buy one pint and online grocery shopping requires a minimum spend. Otherwise you pay a hefty shipping fee. Out of laziness, a thought occurred. Why can’t someone, who’s already there, pick up the ice cream and she’ll give them a dollar or two? And that’s how the Lazy App idea was born.
What it does
It's an app that allows a person to request a shopper, who is currently around where the goods are located and will return to the same area as the requested person, to purchase small items for them in exchange for a small delivery fee.
How we built it
After we came up with the process flow and general UI design, we split the team into two, back end and front end. UI design is available at https://tianama.wixsite.com/lazy (Please view via mobile device).
Challenges we ran into
Time crunch and outdated versions of the framework used.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
First time building an app with React Native.
What we learned
How to code with React Native and UI design. Even the simplest of things need a lot of hours. A lot of sugar hurts the brain. There are things we cannot crack.
What's next for TheLazyApp
Take over the world, one sloth at a time!
