Inspiration

Every day, countless stray animals in India suffer from hunger, injury, and neglect, with no structured system to help them. Inspired by compassion and aligned with SDG 3 (Good Health & Well-Being), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities & Communities), and SDG 15 (Life on Land), we envisioned Stray Kind is a platform where technology meets empathy to create real-time, community-driven rescues.

What it does

Stray Kind is a real-time rescue coordination platform where: Anyone can report stray animals with photos, videos, and live location. Volunteers, shelters, and transporters get instantly connected for rescue operations. Community roles (Stray Saver, Squad, Friend, Hub) create a structured flow from rescue to recovery. Multilingual and mobile-first design ensures inclusivity and ease of use.

How we built it

Used no-code/low-code (Vibe Coding) tools to rapidly prototype. Designed with simplicity, multilingual UI, and low-data accessibility for all users. Built a working V0 demo showcasing the full rescue flow.

Challenges we ran into

Coordinating real-time rescue workflows among multiple stakeholders. Mapping shelter capacity and transporter availability dynamically. Designing for low-network rural and semi-urban areas.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Built a functioning prototype V0 rescue platform. Defined clear community roles (Stray Saver, Squad, Friend, Hub). Created a compassion-driven tech ecosystem that works end-to-end.

What we learned

Empathy-first tech design leads to real-world impact. Even prototype (V0) builds can solve pressing problems when focused on clarity and purpose. Collaboration between community + technology is the fastest way to scale compassion.

What's next for Stray Kind - Rescuing With Love

Transition from prototype to full-stack scalable platform. Add AI verification for fake/duplicate reports. Integrate blockchain donations for transparent funding. Enable real-time GPS tracking of rescue missions. Expand city by city across India, partnering with shelters, NGOs, and municipal bodies. Stray Kind’s mission: “Rescuing With Love, Powered by Tech.”
