Inspiration

We observed that asset managers and custodial entities in the crypto world, such as DAOs, DeFi protocols, wallets, but mostly TradFi, e.g. CEXs and NeoBanks, who have access to crypto assets and seek to generate yield, face significant challenges. They often lack an immutable, decentralized, and efficient method to achieve this. As a result, they usually have to trust strategy managers or, in many cases, avoid moving those assets entirely, as seen with many DAOs.

We have seen a lot of B2C on-chain strategy/vault products, but people are forgetting that businesses also need this service. Most of the time in Web3, we make the mistake of focusing heavily on creating solutions for individual users while neglecting the large entities and businesses that custom support and abstractions.

This is why we developed and designed Stratify, the infrastructure layer for custodians to create immutable and limitless onchain strategies. This has been made possible due to our focus on Chainlink Functions, which enable adapting to any client demand with offchain data, while maintaining the immutability and decentralization of the strategy source. Additionally, with the help of Chainlink Automation and Feeds, we could further leverage the automation and rebalancing of our strategies.

What it does

Basically, what we do is enable these players to create their own strategy on top of our infrastructure. We offer integration and even strategy design services. However, our main focus and product is the infrastructure itself—this base layer that removes all the intermediaries from traditional asset management while maintaining the strategy flexibility that traditional asset management offers.

Notice: Our website is mostly a demo to showcase examples of strategies that could be created on top of our protocol. Imagine that the platform can be any of these custodians or asset management entities we mentioned. We wanted to build a demo to show how our customers might create their strategies and introduce them on our page.

How we built it

We divide it our project in three main blocks:

  1. Functions + Strategies: This is where we design and think about strategies, in the demo using real macroeconomic data and translate these strategies into Functions.

  2. Smart Contracts: Here is the strength of our project. We modified the ERC-4626 standard to allow different assets in our vault/strategy. We then created our StratifyVault that it's the function consumer along with its complementary Feeds module and ERC20Rebalancer module. Deployment Addresses

  3. Demo: We created an app to showcase our work, offering an incredible UX. The app includes wallets created via passkeys, which abstracts wallets and key management, feeling like a Web2 experience, real data queried from our smart contract, the ability to invest in deployed strategies, view profile value, and more information about the project.

Challenges we ran into

The main challenges were related to Protocol Design, Function limits, and achieving accurate results, as well as designing an abstracted UX. These were the areas where we spent the most time, but with good feedback and the help of the Chainlink team, along with some extra hours, we managed to get everything done.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Our main accomplishment is the use of Chainlink as the core of our project. This is not just a project that uses Functions, Automation, or Feeds; our core and main value reside in integrating these Chainlink products in a meaningful way, providing substantial value to the project. This project isn't a forced attempt to use Chainlink services, it was a predemitated approach to a real huge market gap we saw by talking to institutions.

We believe this is a disruptive project, enabling the possibility to have traditional strategies onchain with automation, lower operational costs, simplicity and immutability. We are betting on the tokenization of real-world assets (RWA) and want to be at the forefront when this peaks. As two crypto enthusiasts, we truly enjoyed the process and managed to deliver an incredible protocol with a demo and perfect usage of Chainlink products.

What's next for Stratify

During this competition we have already been in some meetings with Neobanks, CEXs and wallet providers, and we are really going to push forward with the project, planning a beta launch in Q3. We have an ambitious developer roadmap, we're are searching for the best BD and Marketing professionals in the EU time zone. We highly encourage you to visit our docs, where we talk about our roadmap and upcoming features in Stratify!

Disclaimer, Stratify previous work

On the technical aspect this project had a website and minimal smart contract done on ETH London 2 months ago. There's been huge differences on bugfixing, architecture changes, and the website is 95% different, complete and working. This is a month work, while on ETH London we barely had 2 full days. On the business part we also took part on a 1 day entrepeneurial hackathon on which we did our Pitch Deck.
