StrandPulse: Autonomous Background Work Orchestrator

🌟 Inspiration

Every day, professionals and individuals lose hours to administrative toil: sorting incoming receipts, triaging conflicting calendar invitations, and filling routine forms. Traditional tools require manual supervision and management.

We created StrandPulse: Autonomous Background Work Orchestrator using the Strands Agents SDK and AWS Bedrock. StrandPulse works silently in the background, executing routine workflows autonomously and surfacing only when critical human decisions are required.

🚀 What It Does

StrandPulse operates autonomously across 3 core pillars:

1. ⚡ Intelligent Ingestion & Triage: Passively monitors incoming event streams (receipts, calendar updates, email threads) and classifies urgency and intent.
2. 🤖 Autonomous Action Execution: Executes multi-step background workflows — extracting receipt totals, scheduling follow-ups, and compiling summary dossiers via AWS tool calling.
3. 🛡️ Smart Human-in-the-Loop Gatekeeping: High-confidence routine tasks execute autonomously; edge cases or critical financial decisions are packaged into actionable 1-click decision cards.

🛠️ How We Built It

• Agent Framework: Built on Strands Agents SDK for stateful, asynchronous multi-agent coordination.
• LLM Reasoning: Powered by AWS Bedrock for zero-shot structured extraction and reasoning.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Serverless execution on AWS Lambda & Amazon EventBridge, with persistent state in Amazon DynamoDB.
