Inspiration

Depression is a problem that affects us very severely. Depressions has become one of the most common problem in these days and also plays a very important role in health. Hence, taking these facts into consideration, we were inspired to make this game.

Story of the game

The game is about a really depressed character gone through serious trauma in his past. This character has to go through various tasks to exit is house which is representing his state of mind. Once he escapes from his thoughts and minds, He has successfully overcome depression and his dark thoughts hidden deep in the house.

How we built it

We built it using a software called unity. We used various functions and made extensive use of variables to bring out this masterpiece. We took time and effort with all assets that have been used throughout the game.

Challenges we ran into

We were struggling, with the scripts and it took us a large chunk of our precious time to fix the bugs. There were problems slicing sprites, Changing old code into new repeatedly, But its not the problems we groaned about. Its about when we press the play button seeing the loading screen, hands crossed, hoping, it works and when, it works the satisfaction we get is immeasurable. The satisfaction that we get when we finally get the project working after sheading blood, sweat and tears to this bug. It is a one of a kind feeling especially being bounded by time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of all the solutions we have come up with to fix all the problems we have come across. We are especially proud of the player movement and the key detection scripts we have added in this project.

What we learned

We haven't learnt much in the technical aspect but we definitely have learnt more about the psychological aspect of hackathon. We learnt, how to manage time in this strict time bound. I am literally typing this with less than a minute left on the clock with our heart racing.

What's next for Stranded.

We are planning to add more features in out game making users give a bit of excitement during there gameplay. We are also looking forward to improve the UI of the game hoping to attract more users to play our game.
