Inspiration

We are Stox, a fully mobile retail focused portfolio tracking app focusing on simple tools, news and social interactions. We are fully integrated with Covalent APIs and can pull all transactions (including NEAR and Aurora!) We are a team of five, fully bootstrapped, working on this project for two years.

For the next evolution of Stox we are building a tokenized idea sharing platform with on-chain attestability. To begin this, we needed a simple way to send earned token balance of users from our native mobile apps to their wallets on chain. We want to bridge non-crypto native mass masket mobile users to web3 features.

What it does

The code asks our Stox mainAPI the in-app earned balance of a user and sends it to their NEAR wallet. As an MVP we added the sign-up bonus redeem functionality to our android app. We built it considering the web2 to web3 track.

How we built it

We used node.js and near js sdk for the backend and java for the ui developments on our frontend.

Challenges we ran into

Initially we had problems with reaching KeyStore fields.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

This was our first web2-web3 development and doing it under two days including the beta version was very satisfying.

What's next for Stox

Stox will be the mobile native, on-chain Stocktwits. We will continue building our engage-to-earn mechanics and automate the rewards distribution mechanism. Early November we are planning for full in-app wallet connections and early next year DEX implementation.
