Inspiration
We were inspired to create an educational app for elementary schoolers that can help with reading as well as vocabulary.
What it does
Users can choose difficulty levels in reading, such as easy, medium, and hard. Then, users can input topic words they want the story to be about and a story will be generated. After the story is generated by AI, users can choose to do a vocab quiz, do text-to-speech commands, highlight vocab words, and regenerate a new story.
How we built it
We used react native and Node.js to build the app.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into challenges with connecting to the ChatGpt API.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Finishing the app on time and adding new features like voice, and dictionary uses.
What we learned
Node.js and reactive native, as well as working with the ChatGPT API.
What's next for StoryGen
We hope to release in the app store.
