Inspiration

Running out of fuel in remote areas or on highways can be stressful and unsafe. Many people panic and don’t know what steps to take first or where to find help. This inspired us to build FuelRescue AI.

What it does

FuelRescue AI is an AI-powered emergency assistant that guides users during fuel-related emergencies. It prioritizes user safety, analyzes the situation, and provides clear guidance such as safety steps, nearby petrol pumps, mechanics, towing options, and emergency calling support. Nearby assistance options launch external navigation or calling features on supported devices (such as map apps or phone dialers on mobile).

How we built it

FuelRescue AI is built using React and TypeScript, and powered by Gemini AI through Google AI Studio. Gemini analyzes the user’s situation and generates structured, calm, and actionable responses based on real-world context.

Challenges we ran into

Designing an emergency-first user flow was challenging. We focused on minimizing user effort and ensuring the app remains usable even in stressful situations or when location access is limited.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We built a realistic, safety-focused emergency assistance app that demonstrates how AI can help users make better decisions during roadside emergencies.

What we learned

We learned how Gemini AI can reason about real-world scenarios and generate empathetic, structured guidance rather than just generic responses.

What's next for FuelRescue AI

Future improvements include live petrol pump data, voice-based interaction for accessibility, and integration with roadside assistance providers.

FuelRescue AI is live!

FuelRescue AI is an AI-powered emergency assistant built using Gemini 3 in Google AI Studio. It helps users who run out of fuel by assessing safety, understanding the situation, and guiding them with clear next steps such as nearby fuel options, roadside assistance, and emergency actions.

The app focuses on calm, step-by-step guidance during stressful roadside scenarios, especially in unfamiliar or remote areas.
