Inspiration
Even if a lot of progress has been made with gender equality across the world, there is a gap that we can observe in society between male, female and non-binary individuals and that gap varies greatly depending on the environment. Hence, we decided to show the world different views and experiences so that people can have a better understanding of each others difficulties.
What it does
The home page describes briefly our values and goals with our project, then it leads the user to a simulation index page where they will be able to find different simulations of difficulties that gender minorities and females can experience in their daily life. The stories there have an interactive feature which can show options of reactions they can have in different situations. From their choice, they can have direct feedback on how it could affect the rest of the story. At the end, you can learn more about how to tackle these kind of issues, and you also get the opportunity to donate to charities.
We also implemented an anonymous forum which can be used to share real stories that happened to the user themselves or someone they know, to raise awareness in a more efficiently and real manner, while providing support if ever needed.
Finally, we started building an analytics page where you can currently find some interesting statistics and graphs about females in the world.
What's next for Story Tellers
Login feature for the users, donating platform to charity inside of the website, more simulations and storylines, better UI/UX, text recognition on the forum for censoring insulting behaviors, machine learning and data visualisation to allow a more interesting and detailed analytics page.
