Inspiration

Making great ideas has always been important. Project collaboration has always been important. ID8 is the next step in helping motivated teams get started on new projects, effortlessly. Our goal was to combine the accessibility of Kahoot with a sleek front-end design, and the proper resources to help teams discuss and compare ideas.

What it does

ID8 is an open-source brainstorming tool that allows users to create and share "whiteboard spaces" where they can collaborate on ideas. The index page allows users to both create and join preexisting whiteboards. The chat room allows users to create and delete ideas on sticky notes.

How we built it

This project was built using HTML, CSS, Javascript, JQuery, Socket.io, Bootstrap, Express, and Node. We started with concept drawings, and given time, online tutorials, and help from the mentors, with produced two pages that we are proud of.

Challenges we ran into

Most of our team was learning front end and back end design for the first time. Learning how to make server side and client side communicate properly.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Our team learned a lot, we realized a clean final product, and we showered once a day.

What we learned

Front end and back end design. We learned how much more there is to learn when it comes to this stuff.

What's next for ID8

Implement different types of thought structures (ex/ use graphs to create collaborative mind maps), implement server hosting to make the page widely available, explore P2P connectivity.
