Inspiration
I'm ex-amazon! :) I currently work in corporate retail in NY and was thinkong of cool ways to improve store experience for customers in store. One big pain point customers have is finding sales reps on the floor in retail setting. Common questions like: is there more stock in this other size or can you check price online are easily done through simple text to speech or search function. Alexa could be a revolutionary product in customer service providing a whole set of skills exclusively for retailers.
What it does
Checks inventory in back
Compares price online and instore
Saves Sales rep time by dorectly requesting units be brought from back (stock room)
Get directions in mall/dept store
How I built it
I'm not a developer, just a hustler with a heart and so I found a way to use the text to speech functionality to render what an instore experience could be like using Alexa. Very simple, but effective. Give me the chance and I'll build the real deal.
Challenges I ran into
This is trivial haha but I had to figure out how to insert a pause while reading the preset script for the MVP.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Built a prototype that can change the way we shop.
What I learned
Speed > perfection Prototyping
