Inspiration
COVID-19 spreads mainly among people who are in close contact (within about 6 feet) for a prolonged period. Spread happens when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or talks, and droplets from their mouth or nose are launched into the air and land in the mouths or noses of people nearby. The droplets can also be inhaled into the lungs. Recent studies indicate that people who are infected but do not have symptoms likely also play a role in the spread of COVID-19. Social distancing helps limit contact with infected people and contaminated surfaces.Everyone has a role to play in slowing the spread and protecting themselves, their family, and their community. This App helps people to practice social distancing and Person who is detected positive can help other people around by notifying to keep distance so that it will stop spreading COVID 19. I have used Bluetooth technology.
What it does
StopSpreadCoVID19 is basically use Bluetooth technology to keep social distancing. If you are going in the area where you know people will be around you and wanted the updates or alerts of COVID19 around you then you have to switch on Bluetooth and make your phone discover-able for some time and keep your location on and which is currently happens with StopSpreadCoVID19. Once your Bluetooth is working, App will search devices and pair it.Person with COVID 19 positive can click on Log Positive button if he tested positive and then background service connect to other devices once and send notification to other “Alert!! : COVID 19 positive patient is around you wanted to warn you to keep 6 ft distance and take care of Yourself and Society.”
In turn on behalf of other people App reply to COVID19 positive person “Thank you and Appreciate it!”.
Previous update was showing it with buttons but now it can be done with background services. Basic testing is done. User have to select device from list to connect and send alert. So Currently not sending pairing request to all devices but paired devices and if you want to send request to particular device then select it from list and then it start pairing.
How I built it
I have used Android technology with JAVA and Bluetooth technology in android.
Challenges I ran into
Connection between devices and send data is little challenging.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Only Bluetooth and Location enable is all it needs to keep social distancing and people can help each other to stop this spread.
What I learned
I learned a lot about COVID 19 and how to keep social distancing. I still have to do a lot of things because I am considering all the devices which are discoverable around me and not just 6ft distance.
