Inspiration

A lot of people are addicted to short form content and social media as a whole, causing issues such as time waste and lower attention spans, this app aims to reduce that.

What it does

Clarity can detect when you are scrolling on your phone for too long (based on a user-set limit) and open a window, making you think if this is really what you want to keep doing today.

How we built it

We built it using Android Studio to emulate a Samsung Galaxy S24. We designed alot of the components of the project though used Claude and Gemini for code generation.

Challenges we ran into

Inexperience with Kotlin & Mobile App Development as a whole caused some issues during inital testing.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The app works and can actually detect Doomscrolling. Our main tester forgot it was running on his phone and actually put the phone down after it triggered.
