Inspiration
Respiratory infections of SARS-CoV-2 are transmitted by droplets moving on distances up to 1.5 meters. A containment strategy, which consists in informing as soon as possible possible individuals that they have been exposed to an epidemiologically relevant extent to a person confirmed positive Covid-19, is considered an effective measure for slow the spread of the disease at all stages of the pandemic and has been recommended by epidemiologists around the world. To date, this process has involved reconstruction manual and notification of contact persons. In other words, infected people must remember and report close contacts in the past 14 days to authorities sanitary facilities. Health authorities should find ways to inform these contacts (for example , look up phone numbers or even addresses) that they've been exposed to increased risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection. This process is slow, requires resources considerable and is subject to errors especially as in our country, Djibouti (In Africa) containment measures prove to be difficult because it is for most poor people, Living in roofs 4 square. But according to statistics from the World Bank, we are the 4th most connected country in Africa https://public.flourish.studio/visualisation/614985/?utm_source=showcase&utm_campaign=visualisation/614985). Even poor people manage to get smartPhone and then receive help via applications set up by PAM (wfp.org ). It is with this in mind that I created an application to automatically track and inform users in case they could have been exposed in an epidemiological measure relevant to a person confirmed positive Covid-19. Our Application Preserves Life privacy, and takes action against user anonymization - in especially regarding their health status - and, at the same time, be effective in contain the spread of the virus and ensure the interruption of transmission chains as soon as possible. If the system were to disclose information about personal behavior, identities or even revealing who was infected with SARS-CoV-2, users would refuse to rightly adopt the system.
What it does
Why is the Covid19 virus spreading so quickly? By that a person can be contagious for several days without knowing it and without presenting symptoms. It can thus transmit the virus to many other people. The traditional tracing process is based on interviews with people carrying the virus. This process involves the collection and manual processing of personal data of these infected people and those they have encountered. It is possible to store the contact history of a person using an app on mobile phone, and to respect privacy, just using Bluetooth signals and geolocation. We suggest that such application be implemented using this protocol developed in-house.
How can an application remember this contact history while protecting the privacy of its users? Follow the story of Oumalkhaire, Charko and Hassan and you will see how our protocol
Oumalkhaire decides to install Our application protocol-based and activates the function Bluetooth as well as geolocation of sound mobile phone.
During installation, an application receives several pseudonyms. These pseudonyms will be used one after the other and for a limited period, which ensures that they will not be able to be used to track Oumalkhaire.
The Oumalkhaire application sends its pseudonyms via Bluetooth. Only the applications of people surrounding Oumalkhaire, like Charko and Hassan , are able to collect his pseudonym and store it on their phones.
The pseudonyms of close users of Oumalkhaire are detected, thanks to the only use of Bluetooth signals, so nobody will not know later where Oumalkhaire was.A few days later, Oumalkhaire presents the symptoms of Covid19 and get tested. he turns out that Oumalkhaire has been contaminated since some time already.
To help protect the people she may have meet in the last two weeks, Oumalkhaire agrees to share their nicknames with the database central.
Charko's app sends his pseudonym to the central database several times per day. Charko receives an alert on his mobile phone: in the last 2 weeks he has been in contact with a person contaminated with Covid19! Hassan receives the same alert on his cell phone.
