Stop Covid-19 Spread is a two-way SMS, Email and Databased based application to Connects Covid-19 Patients, Health Frontliners, Hospitals, the Poor and Needy with their Donors/volunteers, Physicians and Medical Authority.

Its time to flattern Covid-19 Pandemic Curve(CPC).

After seen so many news reports on tragedy created by this Covid-19 Pandemic, every nations shutting down, restaurants, groceries, business in panic. Even us farmers are in trouble as Covid-19 cases is every where. The poor are hungry because they have no money to buy foods. Hospitals, Physicians, Health Front-liners running short of PPE and other equipment's needed to fight Covid-19.

I was afraid when I chat up with my friends and he told me that their hospital are being overloaded and they lack beds, ventilators and infact that they need help in general.

While Covid-19 patients, the Poor, the needy, the elderly , medical frontliners need help, then it will be awesome to partner all of them together by developing an app that could solve their needs and thereby limiting the spread of the virus in other to flatten the Curve.

Consequently, there is serious need in getting Donors/Contributors and Volunteers on board who can help especially the poor, the needy, the elderly etc.

Finally, there is another serious need for creating awareness as some persons does not even know what this virus is, what causes it, how its transmitted and how to prevents oneself from being affected. This simply means that there is a need for Covid-19 guidlines and Tips and Website Materials where one can get authentic information on how to contain this virus.

To programmatically solve all this problems outlined above, Stop Covid-19 Spread was born.

What the Applications Does.

The app plays 6 major roles

1.)Save Your Life: By Filling and Sending Covid-19 Questionaire Medical Report

A user experiencing COVID-19 symptoms will automatically use this platform to send a details regarding Covid 19 related sysmptom such a Soar Throats, Cough, Pnuemonia etc. via SMS and Email Messages to available health Provider or to country's Emergency Contacts and recieve a recommendation back from the Medical authority on the next line of actions which might include whether to come for Medical Test, or Further stay at home. This Medical Questionaire are propagated via Email and SMS Messaging Components.

In the Medical questionaire, the User is allowed to responds to all the sysmptom he is having as coded in the applications and then send it to appropriate Medical team for recommendations on the next line of actions.

This will help to prevent the hospitals from being overloaded with Patients suffering from this illed Covid-19 Pandemic.

2.) Save Life of others affected: Report Infected Persons, Friends and Relations

A Covid-19 Patients or Sufferer or anyone can use this platform to send informations about other people they may have come in contact with during Pre and Post Covid-19 illness to limit Covid-19 from further Spreading. To do this, the Covid-19 sufferer will forward those people's name and their contacts to any Emergency Health Authority via SMS and Email for immediate response.Those Reportee(Person being reported) will be immediately be visited by Medical authority for medical evaluation.

This helps support contact tracing efforts to slow the spread of the novel covid-19 virus.

3.)Connecting Hospitals, Medical Frontliners & their Covid-19 Resources Updates:

Connecting Medical Frontliners with those who can help them out. As most hospitals, Medical frontliners are running out of Personal Protective Equipments(PPE) and other Covid-19 equipments for taking care of the Patients. it will be awesome to connect them with those who can help.


To this effect, the application allows Various Hospitals and Health Frontliners within the Vicinity or country to use the platform to update their Covid-19 resources availability or deficiency as regards to Eg:

A.) No. of available Gloves, Medical Wears etc
B.)No. of Available Beds
C.) No. of Available Testing Kits.
D.) No of Available Ventilators.
E.) No of Covid-19 Patients etc.
F.)What they lacks and what they needs by forwarding their request via SMS to any higher Medical Authority, Philantropist, Country's Emergency Contacts and to the general public within the platform.

This will help to attract positive responses and help to the Medical Frontliners by Individuals, Philantropist, Communities, Government etc. Again the manufacturer of those components can also contacts those hospitals for supply.. Consequently, availability and live Updates/Posts about this resources by various Medical/Hospital Teams will also help Covid-19 Patients in decision making on which Hospital to move to should they be any need due to Covid-19 Pandemic. The hospital will also provide their Contacts infos along with their locations/address for easy geo mapping and location accessibility and directions on google map.

4.) Physicians & Patients Connections:

Connecting Physicians who are willing to help with Infected Covid-19 Patients.

How does it work

A Certified and Verified Physicians will access the applications and then updates/uploads their Social connectivity data. like Phone no.,Facebook Chat Messenger Id, Whatsapp Number and Email Address

Then a user expriencing Covid-19 related sysmptom such a Soar Throats, Cough, Pnuemonia etc. can contact the available physicians from their Facebook Chat Messenger, Mobile Contacts, Email, SMS and whatsapp on what to do next regarding the sysmptoms he or she is having. The Medical recommendations by the Physician can be whether the user can come for a test, take some drugs etc. This remote Physicians vs Covid-19 Social communications will help to curtail unneccessary mobility, panic, fear and also prevent all available Medical hospitals from being overloaded...

5.)Help the Poor and Needy:

We always has poor, the needy and less advantaged people around us. As nations goes into lockdown and people are quarantined at home, most of this poor people are worried about foods and drugs.

We can help them in any way we can to survive this pandemic and ensure that foods and drugs gets to the Needy home. You can help by becoming either update your data within the platform as a Donor/Contributor or a Vounteer

A Donor/Contributor: is the one who plays the most vital roles by helping the poor and the needy through money donation. The money donated will be used to buy foods and Drugs that will be shared and distributed to the Poor and Needy. Currently a Donor can only donate money to the recipient account via Paypal

A Volunteer: is the one who helps the poor and the needy by managing and assisting in the food distributions. A volunteer ensures that foods gets directly to the needy homes. The app allows a volunteer updates his contact details within the platform for ease of connections and communication as regards to assisting the poor, the needy, elderly and Child-Care thus ensuring that foods are properly distributed to the home of the less privilege people who needs it.

The Poor & Needy: is the one who is asking for help either for foods. The application allows the needy to update their contact details along with the number of family members who need help. This contact details will be used to contact and locate them and ensure that foods gets at their door steps without worrying for payments..

6.) Become Informed: Get Insight and Tips on How to contain Covid-19 Virus.

Prevent the spread of this virus starts by knowing what causes it, how it spreads, the effects and how to contain it from escalating. This app provides one with all the Medical Tips and Guidelines on how to avoid contamination with this deadly virus. Consequently, the app also provide one with use website link on where to get first class information about this novel virus and be safe.

How I built it

It was built using Ajax, Jquery, Php, Mysql, Css and Bootstraps

Challenges I ran into

Light/ Power outage. We live a community where having electricity for 2 hours in every 2 days will be like celebrating Christmas. I just borrowed generator to get light to code this.

About our SMS Gateway.

We are using Sms gateways that are affordable for us. In future we will be using Twilio for Wide Coverage
