Inspiration
We were inspired for the HackSussex track for touching grass, as well as rythm games we've seen in the past.
What it does
You have to touch the pretty flowers with the space bar while avoiding the dangerous plants. Then you need to pick your nose once it gets blocked to stop your score from not being multiplied. Make sure to keep in time with the rythm!
How we built it
We used Godot to code the game and Aesprite to make all the assets, we used GitHub to send updates between us. We also used the online tool BeepBox to make the music for the game.
Challenges we ran into
Coming up with the idea was hard for us as well as running into bugs with the nose multiplier and building the health bar.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We made music by ourselves for the first time and we managed to finish the game to a point that we're happy with.
What we learned
How to work better as a team, how to plan and organise ourselves and our code. We also learned how to use Godot better.
What's next for Stop and Smell the Flowers
Procedurally generated levels and music to play in time with the flowers and plants. Maybe different powerups and plants as well.
