Inspiration

My Inspiration came from: Me being bored. Since covid happened, all I could really do was go and take walks or do the just dance video game. But I wanted to combine these two things with something even more fun. Which made me think of this ridiculous, but incredibly fun: STOMP Shoes.

What it does and how I built it

I have a Puck.js, (A programmable bluetooth button), built into the shoe, (I cut a hole in the shoe and jammed the button in with cardboard and popcorn themed tape). What that puck.js is doing is sending its short press to the computer or iPad and playing whatever song you have selected for 1 second. It has also been programmed to play the entire 1 second of song through, that way it doesn't pause too soon and make funky noises.

Challenges we ran into

PROGRAMMING THE BUTTON!!! I cannot stress it enough. It took ages! Also getting to make the sound play and sound decent without it being choppy.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Making something so much fun, you will probably see me dancing down the street. Actually making this crazy dream into a reality is a magic trick within itself!

What we learned

Bluetooth programming. It can be very tricky, especially hooking it up via web bluetooth.

What's next for STOMP SHOES

A professional shoe without the cardboard. Also where you can add your own song, and maybe attach a bluetooth speaker to the shoe so it plays directly through it.

I APOLOGIZE FOR MY VIDEO RUN-TIME BEING TOO LONG. HOPEFULLY, YOU FIND IT WORTH IT.
