Inspiration

for a while we have been curious about the stock market predictors. We have gone to the microsoft presentation in the morning of the copenhacks, and got inpired to use the cognitive api/azure. We remembered that just recently the American presiden Donald Trump has tweeted some negative things about Amazon, which made their stock plummet. Which made us think about the possibility of getting predictions of how the stocks will act after the relevant news are published about the company owning these stocks.

What it does

as we did not have much time to make it (we had to pivot quite a lot from our original idea 5 hours before submission deadline), it can do quite limited things, it can advise the person using it about whether or not he/she should sell consider getting the stocks/ and to take into consideration whether the recent news about the company are positive of not. It uses azure cognitive and bing news in order to predict the positivity/negativity percentage of the most recent news.

we have used the azure api s together with python it order to make this work

we started working on a completely different project, and realized quite late that we should change the idea to something we can do in the time framework. first hackathon reactjs

finish the ui where you are able to choose the company, and the trusted news source, work more on the machine learning algorithms to have a better more educated guess on the predictability, implement the trading system.
