Inspiration

Our inspiration for this project came from our passion for financial markets tied with our drive to create sustainable impact with technology.

What it does

StockStainable provides users with information about S&P 500 companies related to their sustainability.

How we built it

We used a traditional front-end/back-end split for this project. The front-end handles pages, views, and routing, while the backend handles data collection and cleaning and parsing, logic, and control.

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges we encountered were difficulties in determining relevant data and creating a method for calculations of sustainability levels.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to have accomplished this project and believe working on it has helped us strengthen both our teamwork and technical skills.

What we learned

Our front-end team learned new skills such as Flask and Tailwind CSS, while our back-end team learned more about concurrent programming.

What's next for StockStainable

We plan to add some more features to StockStainable to help make the software more user friendly and contain even more relevant information.
