Inspiration (IN PERSON PROJECT)
The finance and crypto market is extremely nuanced and difficult for beginners to get into. Information overload, complex jargon, and significant barrier to entry presented on daunting interfaces has dissuaded many from truly pursuing crypto and finance. As this field becomes ever more prominent and a part of the future, we realize that it is imperative to develop an interface for easily learning and access. However, since crypto is all about moving into the future, we believe that a minimalistic approach is not what we need, instead a mix of a futuristic and simplified idea. Looking at current products in the market, we realize that such an approach simply doesn't really exist as most apps are meant for professionals and don't target the huge audience market of those who want to begin learning. What it does
Our app transforms the intimidating world of finance into a reactive and immersive experience that feels intuitive and human-like despite its innovative design, essentially miking futuristic and minimalistic ideals. Users can navigate a virtual ecosystem where everything feels human like but has element of the crypto space everywhere. This learning experience mirrors learning apps in other industries while maintaining the advanced look and feel that crypto strives for.
How we built it
We used standard HTML, CSS, Javascript along with NextJS and 3JS to develop a prototype of a 3d immerse experience. Using a spatial navigation system that maps financial concepts to physical spaces we created 3D assets that allow the user to move around the space, while keeping the space minimalistic. We then built an adaptive learning algorithm that tailors the complexity of explanations based on user interactions and integrated real-time market data APIs and GPT- APIs that dynamically reshape the virtual environment.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into many challenges regarding actually developing the UI to how we want it to look. Since we are using a 3d space and want to really immerse the user into an experience, hand coding the project in a matter of hours presented many issues. Additionally, we had to spend numerous hours developing a way of actually implementing a 3d space which can feel both human-like and 3-d. Many of our libraries also were difficult to use together as they presented contrasting features.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are really proud of getting the 3d rendering and movement to work despite the short timeline. Ideally, our solution and approach to our problem of financial literacy would take weeks if not months to properly implement, but we our proud of our prototype and its vision.
What's next for Untitled
We are really excited about this prototype and believe there are many features we can add. Most importantly, we would love to fine tune the main user experience, adding even more spacial and movement mechanics. We truly believe this app could fundamentally change the way people approach entry in stocks and crypto by maintaining a futuristic blockchain theme with minimalistic design and learning approach.
