We wanted to create a simple web-app that lets users type in any product on Amazon and see if it's in stock. Also just wanted to practice our python and web-scraping abilities

What it does

Our app is very simple. Just search for your item and you'll be able to see all the current items in stock on Amazon.

How we built it

We used some python web-scraping libraries and built our entire backend with Flask. For the front-end, we used the regular old html, css combo with some javascript to bring out the dynamic tables.

Challenges we ran into

Learning a new framework and getting to know the limitations of said framework. Also we couldn't scrape data from Amazon's webpages before until we found a workaround.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We completed the project and it works. Also we were able to figure out how to scrape Amazon's data as they have put into place many things to prevent that.

What we learned

-web-scraping -flask -ajax

What's next for Stocks Checker

We will scrape the entire internet and eventually control all the data online.
