Inspiration
We feel like many young people today are very worried about their finances. We wanted to create a tool that would make the stock market seem more approachable to people who are interested in it in a fun, gamified way.
What it does
it presents you with the chart for a particular stock across a month, and you have to guess the remaining points on the chart that are left blank. You get feedback based off of how close your guesses are, and when you're finished you can view the full chart to see what really happened.
How we built it
we used HTML, javascript, and CSS to create a web app.
Challenges we ran into
we were both pretty rusty, so we spent a lot of our time relearning skills. We ran into a lot of problems with some HTML edge cases, so our UI ended up having a bit of jank to it, but I think we were able to work out most of the kinks.
What's next for Stockdle
AI to tell how to more accurately predict charts and why your predictions could have been wrong, automated win detections, and an enhanced UI. Web hosting would allow us to give every user the same chart to predict, more similar to other games, while also opening up other features like an endless "practice" mode or a leaderboard.
