Stock Broker Image

Inspiration

To create an application to help Bars and Venues move stock that would otherwise stay on the shelf too long and need to be removed in an audit while making it a fun game for the customer encouraging usage and purchase of these less purchased stock

What it does

Flucuates the price of products that are sold dependant on the Supply and Demand of them. A companion iOS app can be used by the customer to view the changes (which can also be displayed on a screen) and order the products

How we built it

We had a central hub called our broker that three client apps spoke to, one for our customers to order with which was iOS, one for our dashboard which we imagine on a TV built in HTML (ES6 Backbone) and an android app built for the Clover market place. All the apps communicated using pusher.com a real time communication service.

Challenges we ran into

Not many just time, we did have to set up a new dev machine, and our Spotify playlists weren't long enough.

Accomplishments that we are proud of

First company team hackathon and working with the Clover dev time.

What we learned

Using Clover and Pusher APIs, and that we came well over prepared for food -- lots of sweets are at table, come help yourself.

What's next for Stock Broker

More compatibility to other iOS devices and Android, the ability for the customer to buy ‘shares’ for future usage just like the Stock Market or bet on product changes (Higher / Lower). Make it more awesome. Full integration with the mobile ordering app Boppl & Clover boppl.me
