What it does

You can enter a stock, an initial investment amount, and two dates to see how the stock would have grown or declined over that time period. The website also displays a graph of the stock over the time period.

How we built it

We built this using python and HTML.

Challenges we ran into

We have problems connecting the code we wrote to the website, as well as creating a graph to display the progress of the stock.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are very proud of the website we created, especially because this is the first hackathon for most of our team members.

What we learned

We learned how to use APIs, as well as GitHub. We also learned many new python functions, how to build a web application from scratch, and how to make a plot using python.

What's next for stock-tracker

We plan to expand the functionality of the graph to display multiple stocks at once if the user so chooses. We also hope to make the website look cleaner.
