Inspiration - We realized the stock market and trading was an important way to secure one's financial future. We wanted to give young people the opportunity to experience the way the market works, without the actual risks involved investing. This is so that they can get an idea of how to make informed decisions should they choose to invest in the stock market in the future.

What it does - Upon receiving their income, the user is allowed to analyze past trends of the stocks available at the market (randomly generated each time the user plays), and prompted to invest in 3 companies (can buy up to 5 stocks). The app then calculates the performance of the stocks based on past trends, and returns how much of a profit/loss/breakeven the user has made per stock and their new balance.

How we built it - For the backend portion of this project we used python coding and its libraries. For the frontend, we used figma.

Challenges we ran into - We couldn't figure out how to tie in the UI/UX portion of the project into the code. We had a solid backend, but it took some brainstorming on how to present the prototype effectively.

Accomplishments that we're proud of - The UI/UX portion of this was new to us and we are proud of the way that we created a viable and eye-catching product prototype.

What we learned - We learned that collaboration is a gift and putting our heads together was important in getting us to the finish line. We also learned that it is essential to keep learning new skills and techniques because the world is always evolving.

What's next for Stock-ify - Stock Market Simulator: We aim to progress our prototype further and launch it as an actual app using html.
