Inspiration

Small tailoring businesses still rely heavily on notebooks, WhatsApp messages, and memory to manage customer orders. We wanted to build a simple digital tool that felt natural for them — even without any tech knowledge.

What it does

StitchSmart is a mobile-friendly web app tailored for solo tailors, boutique owners, and home-based designers. It helps them

  1. Currently, only Gmail login is supported due to time constraints. Other methods may be added in future updates.
  2. Manage customer orders with cloth images, delivery dates, and pricing
  3. Track payment status (paid/unpaid)
  4. Showcase finished works in a clean gallery layout
  5. Upgrade to a Pro Plan for unlimited orders and advanced analytics
  6. Lifetime users will receive WhatsApp reminders for delivery deadlines (coming soon)

How we built it

  1. Bolt.new: For quick UI development with zero-code workflow
  2. Supabase: Backend database for authentication and data storage
  3. Netlify: For hosting and deployment

Challenges we ran into

  1. Faced time limitations in integrating full login options — only Gmail login is currently functional. 2 Simulating Pro plan behavior without actual payments
  2. Supabase foreign key constraints while designing the data model
  3. Managing user plan logic dynamically during login/signup
  4. Balancing clean UI with real-world tailoring requirements — all within 4 days!

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  1. Responsive landing page with strong feature-based storytelling.
  2. Seamless login and dashboard tailored to Free and Pro users.
  3. Pro plan simulation logic with expiry countdown and plan display.
  4. Transformed paper-based tailoring workflows into a structured digital experience.
  5. Built with real tailoring use-cases, not just a concept demo.

What we learned

  1. Simulating premium feature access using plan flags and metadata
  2. Power of Bolt’s backend logic and front-end UI triggers
  3. Best practices for managing user roles and access
  4. Storytelling through UX: how your landing page can sell the product
  5. How to ship fast while staying focused on real-world users

What's next for StitchSmart

  1. Payment integration (Razorpay or Stripe)
  2. Dynamic portfolio uploads + shareable public gallery
  3. Custom branding and advanced analytics for Pro users
  4. Smart WhatsApp Reminders using APIs
  5. Mobile app version with offline-friendly flow
  6. Tailor onboarding program to test usability and refine UX
