Many women juggle responsibilities—family, society, education, careers—without visible recognition. Yet, these invisible efforts are powerful. We wanted to build a platform that quietly supports, guides, and empowers women to convert their everyday contributions into tangible career growth. That’s how Shadow was born: a digital twin that works in the background to boost confidence, build skills, and create career capital.

What it does

Shadow is an AI-powered career assistant designed specifically for women who want to grow their careers while balancing other responsibilities. It offers:

🗺️ AI Goal Mapper: Plan personalized career journeys with weekly milestones.

📚 Micro-Learning Hub: Learn with short, resume-synced lessons and audio/text modes.

🤖 Shadow Resume: Auto-generate resumes from invisible labor and logged tasks.

💬 Confidence Companion: Boost mental wellness with affirmations, journaling, and mood tracking.

💼 Jobs & Grants Finder: Discover women-centric opportunities.

🔐 Demo & Auth Modes: Explore via localStorage or sign in with Supabase.

How we built it

We built the Shadow platform using:

React with Vite for a blazing-fast frontend

Tailwind CSS and Framer Motion for smooth, elegant UI/UX

Supabase for authentication, database, and storage

OpenAI for intelligent goal planning and guidance

LocalStorage for state management in demo mode

GitHub + Vercel for seamless deployment and hosting

The entire project is structured to be responsive, modular, and scalable — designed with empathy and care.

Challenges we ran into

Creating a truly calming, non-overwhelming UI while packing in features

Managing user session flows for both real users (via Supabase) and demo users

Designing reusable and animated components while keeping the codebase maintainable

Enabling intelligent AI features with contextually appropriate prompts

Exporting and deploying from Bolt to GitHub and Vercel smoothly
