What Stillee is
Stillee is a companion for panic attacks and the nights that won't settle.
Most calm apps are built for a good evening. Stillee is built for the bad night: the panic attack on a Tuesday afternoon, the 3am wake-up with a racing mind, the week where sleep will not come. It does not promise to fix you. It sits with you while things settle. Not a cure. A witness.
Stillee is on the App Store for iPhone. The crisis tools are free, forever.
Try it in two minutes
If you are judging, or just curious, this is the fastest way to see what it does.
- Open the app and tap the small pebble. The breathing starts before you have read a word. No account, no sign-up, nothing to choose.
- Go to Sleep and find the shelf called Awake at 3am. Pick a track. Notice there is no clock on the screen, and that the track ends in silence rather than a chime.
- Open Sound Bath and start 3 AM Room. It runs all night without a seam.
- Premium is a 14-night free trial on iPhone, so the full library, the eight-week course and Insights are open to you without a code.
- If you use Claude, ChatGPT or Meta Muse, add Stillee to your assistant and say "It's 3am and I'm awake again". You get a link straight to the right track.
Why it is built this way
The worst moment is the worst time to ask for anything. Nobody mid-panic can read a menu, pick from a library or type a password. So the panic flow opens with the breath already moving, and it never asks for an account. How the panic flow works.
3am is not bedtime with a different timestamp. Waking at 3am is its own problem, and almost nothing is built for it. Stillee has a dark, quiet mode with no clock, tracks chosen for that exact moment, and one rule for every sleep track: it fades to silence. No goodbye, no ending chime. If you fall asleep before it finishes, it did its job. Why 3am needs different content than bedtime.
Free means free. The panic flow, the 3am reset, the breathing exercises, the journal and the Sound Bath night shelf are free for good. Premium is for the long work: the full library, the multi-week programs, the rest of Sound Bath, the Stories and Insights. You pay for the practice. You never pay for safety.
Made to be put down. No streaks at bedtime. No badges. No feed to scroll at 11pm. One calm voice across the whole app, and a small catalog where every track exists for a reason.
What shipped since launch
Stillee went live on 13 August 2026 and kept shipping.
Sound Bath, 25 August. Bowls, gongs and low warm drones, arranged into pieces you can sit inside or fall asleep to. Listen to what is in it.
Stories, September. Night of Rain and Around the Bowl, long pieces that settle into a sound you can sleep in.
Your AI assistant, 24 September. Add Stillee to Claude, ChatGPT or Meta Muse and ask in your own words. It hands you the right track, saves the check-ins you ask for, never reads your journal, and cannot buy anything for you.
The hard parts
Designing for someone who cannot read. Our first panic screen opened on a choice. The choice was the problem. Putting the breath on the very first frame, and the questions one step later, took more attempts than anything else in the app.
Deciding what free means. Our first free tier had 77 tracks. The one that shipped has seven, chosen by moment, plus one rule: anything with 3am in its name is free forever. Cutting seventy tracks from free was the hardest call we made, and it is what makes the paywall honest.
Audio you are not supposed to notice. Every track had to fade at a level that does not wake a sleeping person. Then the Sound Bath pieces had to loop for hours without a seam, which meant building our own audio engine. Nobody will ever hear that work. That is the point.
What's next
A sleep course built on CBT-I. More Stories. Android. And a store listing that leads with the whole night, with the crisis tools staying free and up front.
