STILL HERE — Keep the Moments That Keep You Close
Inspiration
We wanted to help people preserve precious memories of loved ones. Photographs, voice notes, and stories hold emotions that ordinary storage cannot fully capture. This inspired us to build STILL HERE, a platform that makes memories easier to revisit.
What it does
STILL HERE lets users create personal profiles, upload photos, videos, stories, and voice recordings, and organize memories in one place. Users can explore cinematic flashbacks and use Feel the Existence to ask questions about saved memories. AI-generated reflections and ElevenLabs narration can enhance the experience when properly configured and authorized.
How we built it
We designed a responsive website using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with a warm, nostalgic interface, personalized profiles, memory galleries, flashbacks, and light and dark themes. Our planned AI architecture uses Google Gemma for memory-based reasoning and ElevenLabs for speech generation through a secure backend.

Challenges we ran into
Our main challenges were creating an intuitive interface, preventing layout issues across devices, integrating AI and audio services, protecting private memories, and distinguishing verified original quotes from AI-generated reflections.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We created a meaningful project concept that combines memory preservation, cinematic storytelling, and AI-powered interaction. Our fictional Indian grandmother demo profile illustrates how everyday moments can become an organized and engaging memory journey.
What we learned
We learned that building an AI application requires more than generating responses. Reliable data, responsive design, backend integration, privacy, voice authorization, and honest AI disclosures are equally important.
What's next for STILL HERE
We aim to strengthen authentication and secure memory storage, complete and test Gemma and ElevenLabs integrations, improve audio conversations, and expand cinematic flashbacks while keeping original recordings authentic and accessible.
Our belief is simple: Technology cannot replace the people we miss, but it can help us keep their memories closer.
