Inspiration

When an appliance breaks, the receipt is usually a blurry photo somewhere in thousands of phone backups, the manual is a PDF in Downloads, and nobody remembers the purchase date. People end up paying for repairs that should have been free. Many UGREEN NAS owners already have all of these files on their NAS; they just are not connected.

What it does

Still Covered builds a small product register on the NAS. Each product gets one record: name, store, purchase date, price, warranty length, expiry date, and links to the receipt photo and the manual. You can then ask in plain words, such as "Is the dishwasher still covered?", and get covered, expired or unknown, with the source files.

How we built it

The Skill is a single SKILL.md orchestration plus two Markdown references, written with the UGREEN Uliya Skill Kit 0.7.3. The parent Skill only delegates: file-agent searches the folders the user names and adds tags, photo-agent reads receipts, document-agent reads warranty terms in manuals, and knowledge-agent saves the register and answers questions with evidence. Tagging and saving wait for user approval, low-confidence matches are shown instead of saved, and nothing is invented when a field cannot be read.

Challenges

Matching a receipt to a manual when the receipt has no model number, and keeping every step safe when the NAS returns partial results.

What's next

Tuning the matching on real receipt photos and runtime tests on a NAS in the next round.

Disclosures

No third-party code is bundled; the package is Markdown only. At runtime it relies on Uliya registered experts and Uliya-supported cloud models. AI tool used: Claude (Anthropic) via Claude Code, for drafting and revising the Skill files and proposal, checking them against the capability catalog, and English proofreading. The idea comes from the entrant's own experience keeping purchase and warranty records.
