What's next for Stile - Smart Tile 🌟 Inspiration

The idea for Stile came from a simple everyday moment — singing and thinking in the bathroom. Bathrooms are one of the most personal spaces we spend time in, yet they’ve been overlooked in the wave of smart home innovation. While our living rooms, kitchens, and even cars are getting smarter, bathrooms are still stuck with clunky waterproof speakers or messy devices that ruin the clean design. That gap inspired me to ask: What if the tiles themselves became smart?

📖 What I Learned

How to identify overlooked spaces in technology (bathrooms + tiles).

The importance of design-first thinking — technology should blend in, not clutter.

Basics of resonance audio (vibrations transmitting sound through solid surfaces, similar to bone conduction).

How to communicate an idea visually using pitch decks, mockups, and motion graphics.

🛠️ How I Built the Project

As the project is currently in the ideation phase, I focused on:

Designing concept sketches and mockups of how Stile would look and function.

Creating an exploded-view layer system to show the tech inside:

Ceramic Finish (looks like a normal tile)

Resonance Audio Layer (immersive sound without visible speakers)

Smart Display (invisible when off, visible when on)

Electronics Core (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, power)

Base Plate (waterproof + modular)

Developing a pitch deck and video presentation to communicate the concept clearly.

🚧 Challenges Faced

Limited resources to build a working prototype — I had to rely on design + visualization skills to explain the concept.

Translating a “wild idea” into something that looks feasible and professional.

Making the presentation engaging without expensive filming equipment (solved by using After Effects motion graphics and a clean design approach).

🌍 Vision

Over the next 3–5 years, I see Stile evolving from concept → prototype → premium product for smart homes, luxury hotels, and spas, eventually scaling to mainstream living spaces. The long-term mission is to transform overlooked walls and tiles into interactive surfaces that elevate everyday life.
