Inspiration. Personal assistants keep getting better at chatting and worse at remembering. I wanted an agent that does the boring operational work (scheduling, reminders, notes) and actually remembers my preferences across sessions, built on open protocols instead of a closed platform.

What it does. Steward is a personal-operations Agent Skill. Tell it "Plan my Saturday: dentist at 10am, buy groceries, and remind me to call mom. Remember that I prefer morning appointments," and the agent checks the time, adds the calendar events, sets the reminders, and stores the preference so future sessions read it back before assuming anything. Thirteen MCP tools cover clock, calendar, reminders, notes, and cross-session preferences, all persisted in SQLite.

How I built it. The Alexa+ track deliverable is a self-hosted MCP server (Python MCP SDK, Streamable HTTP) exposing the 13 tools. A Strands SDK age
