Stepping Stones

Inspiration

I was inspired to create Stepping Stones after seeing painted stones on my neighbor's lawns as I took walks around the neighborhood during the pandemic. I blended by passion for art with my desire to help the environment, which lead to the creation of Stepping Stones.

What it does

Stepping Stones creates sustainable gifts and uses sustainable packaging materials to reduce the environmental impact from unwanted gifts.

How we built it

I used Canva for my pitch deck.

Challenges we ran into

Initially, it was difficult to think of an original idea for a business that would align with the sustainability track. However, after deciding that I wanted to combine my passion for art into this project, I was able to come up with an idea.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud that I was able to complete this project, especially since this is the first hackathon that I have participated in.

What we learned

I learned that creating a business is not easy as there are many steps to the process, like conducting research, coming up with an idea, and planning the business out.

What's next for Stepping Stones

Stepping Stones hopes to expand by getting other artists to join our cause and to essentially be a marketplace for the artists. The artists would be able to sell their sustainable gifts through Stepping Stones, which will create a significant impact towards the environment.
