Inspiration
There are noticeable gender gaps in the STEM industry which we have witnessed through personal experience in the workplace and school environments. We also were inspired to help women feeling intimidated to pursue STEM because of gender norms. Our team is eager to close this gap by motivating more women to begin their STEM journey.
What it does
STEM girls helps women of all STEM experiences to develop their exposure, understanding, and comfortability with STEM. This includes providing a personalized quiz that serves as a foundation by categorizing their interests into the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math options which each have unique themes and tailored information. Users can explore job comparisons, resources created by mentors and women with STEM experience, find statistics, and real life opportunities. Overall, our app gives young women access to resources and connections to other women in STEM to help them feel more represented and keen.
