Inspiration
Our inspiration was to create a simple, easy, and educational way for anyone to view some of the most popular constellations in a 3D environment.
What it does
You can experience some of the most popular constellations in our solar system, including Orion, Ursa Major, Ursa Minor, and the Big Dipper!
How we built it
HTML for the website, CSS for style, Three.js for the 3D environment, JS for basic functions!
Challenges we ran into
Since we both were pretty new to Three.js, it was a big struggle to figure out how to place the constellations in a 3D environment. It took a ton of troubleshooting, and lots of trial and error before we even created a legible solution. Also the locations of the stars are definitely not accurate, our calculations were not great :(
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're pretty proud of even getting anything to show up on the constellation page!
What we learned
We definitely learned a lot about Three.js and how to work in 3D environments.
