Inspiration

Snowboarding and skiing progression thrives on community—pushing each other to land new tricks, celebrate milestones, and share style. We wanted to capture that same energy in an app that gamifies learning and makes progression both fun and social.

What it does

Steezy tracks the tricks a rider can do, their comfort level, and suggests the next tricks to learn based on difficulty and risk. Each trick earns steez points, letting riders level up their “steez.” With a feed to post trick clips, a friends list to follow progress, and a gamified progression system, Steezy helps riders stay motivated and connected.

How we built it

We built Steezy as a mobile app using the React Native framework for cross-platform functionality.

Challenges we ran into

  • Creating a database of tricks you can learn
  • Finding a way to implement a social feed

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Building a functional prototype that tracks and ranks tricks
  • Creating a community-focused platform that brings riders together

What we learned

We gained experience balancing technical scope with user experience and explored how social features can deepen engagement in sports apps.

What's next for Steezy

  • Personalized trick progression plan
  • Lightweight video database
  • AI Trick tutorial videos using Gemini
