In a world dominated by short-form media and constant notifications, attention spans are rapidly shrinking — now averaging less than 50 seconds. As someone who struggles to stay focused while reading long articles or research papers, I wanted to build a tool that works with short attention spans instead of against them. The idea was simple: what if reading could feel as engaging as watching a YouTube video or gaming stream? The project is a Google Chrome extension that reads an entire webpage, article, or research paper aloud while displaying looping gameplay footage in the background — accompanied by synchronized subtitles. It’s built using:

HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the extension frontend

Chrome’s Text-to-Speech (TTS) API for real-time narration

Subtitles generation powered by web parsing and DOM text extraction

Background video integration for a continuous, stimulating visual loop
