StaySafe NG was created to transform fragmented security signals into clear, real-time situational awareness that anyone can access.

The Problem

Security awareness in Nigeria suffers from three major issues:

  • Incidents are reported across disconnected platforms
  • Verification is slow or nonexistent
  • Risk information is not actionable for everyday movement

As a result, travelers, commuters, and communities often encounter danger before they are aware of it.

What StaySafe NG Does

StaySafe NG is an open-source, AI-powered security awareness platform built specifically for Nigeria.

The platform allows:

  • Crowd-sourced reporting of incidents such as kidnapping, terrorism, and road insecurity
  • Clear distinction between verified and unverified reports
  • Visualization of incidents on a live interactive map

Using both historical and real-time data, travel routes are automatically classified as:

Low Risk, Medium Risk, High Risk

An integrated AI assistant trained on Nigerian security data answers safety questions in real time, helping users assess risk before making movement decisions.

How It Works

The system follows a prevention-first workflow:
