Stay With Me

I was hiking alone in the desert when I injured my knee — no cell signal, no internet, no way to call for help. Thankfully, another hiker found me and talked me through building a makeshift knee brace from a compression bandage. That stranger's knowledge kept me moving. But I kept thinking: what if no one had been there?

Stay With Me is a fully offline emergency assistant for when you're beyond the reach of the internet — and need reliable guidance the most.

The Problem

Millions of people work and travel in remote locations every day — mine sites, fishing vessels, national parks, remote highways, backcountry trails. When something goes wrong, there's no Siri, no Google, no 911. Just you, whatever you're carrying, and whatever you know.

That gap between what you have and what you need to know is where people get hurt — or worse.

What It Does

Stay With Me puts a knowledgeable, voice-driven assistant in your pocket that works with zero connectivity. Ask it how to splint a fracture, treat a snake bite, signal for rescue, or purify water — and get clear, step-by-step guidance spoken back to you, hands-free.

  • Fully offline. No internet required — ever.
  • Voice-first. Speak your question, hear your answer. Critical when your hands are occupied.
  • On-device AI. Powered by Apple's local Foundation Model framework — all inference stays on your device.
  • Emergency-focused knowledge. First aid, survival, navigation, and field repair guidance curated for real scenarios.

A Learning Project

This project is equal parts product and education. It's a hands-on exploration of building with Swift and Python together — learning on-device ML, Apple's Foundation Model APIs, and speech frameworks by solving a problem that matters.

Who It's For

Anyone who ventures beyond cell range: hikers, park rangers, mine workers, offshore crews, remote researchers, overlanders, wildland firefighters, rural farmers — and the organisations responsible for keeping them safe.

Because the next time you're alone, injured, and off the grid — your phone should still have your back.
