COVID-19 has caused a great upheaval in our economic system, which has increased the number of people facing housing insecurity. This has made it far more important to find ways to help people facing this problem to get back on their feet. In these unprecedented times, it is even more crucial to help to alleviate the stress that comes to those without homes. We were inspired by AirBnB’s streamlined system that allows people to stay the night in places they would normally not be able to in the planning of our own, similar app that could allow those in need to find shelters and resources, with updated statistics about capacity and volume. That’s what our application, “Stay the Night”, seeks to do, in a more collaborative and community-oriented, efficient system with data from multiple locations.
