The problem

When people have varios symptons of covid-19 most of the times don't know when should go to the hospital. Most people recover from Covid-19 in their homes and never get tested for coronavirus. Isolation and lack of information makes them feel worry and overwhelmed so emergency phone lines are overloaded and can saturate hospitals.

The inspiration

A few weeks ago a person had all the symtons of covid-19, she never took the COVID-19 test, she was very worried because didn't know when should go to the hospital. She has a friend who is a physician, every day sent a voice message to her friend. He evaluated her breathing using the audio files, if she need to go to the hospital or not, she didn't need, she fell less worried thanks to her friend. When I heard the story I found It very usefull. Why cann't make it massive!!, if it works for her it could work for more people!

The solution

Ana feel sick, she has a lot of symptons of covid-19 and doesn't know what to do. She download the APP Stay-Home-Safe and makes the sympton test.The test is negative so she takes the test again in a few days when she feels worse. After taking the sympton test again the result is positive, she start getting really nervous.

But she notice that can record her voice ( less than 30 seconds) and this will be sent to a physician, voice files can be track over the time so the doctor has the capability to evaluate if Ana needs to go to the hospital because of her shortness of breath.

When Ana gets the result of her voice file, she feel less worried, she know she does not need to go to the hospital, because her breath can be evaluated comparing current voice file with previous records..

The proffesional load the app, with an anonymous information, can evaluate a patient in less than a minute, listening over the time the patient voice records, helping to reduce hospitals saturations and reassuring patients. In an hour can evaluate more than a hundred posible Covid-19 cases.

"If somebody is recording shortness of breath, that's an important symptom," Coffee said. "But that usually is what happens five, eight, 10 days into the course of the illness."

"Usually what I tell people is if you're feeling short of breath and it's hard to walk across the room, walk up a flight of stairs, speak in full sentences — those are always signs that you have more severe shortness of breath," she said.

Business models and risks

B2B - Customize APP

Clinicals and hospitals.

With a monthly fee a hospital or clinic can have their own custimize application. Accesing via User/Password the proffesionals and patients. So the information getting from the app can be merge with the hospital patients admin system.

B2C - Free app

When the user open the app can choose if they want to evalute or be a patient. Figure out a retired physician who want to help or physicians in confinement, they want to help.

All patient data is stored anonymous, and always the patient will be asked if they want to upload their location, just to be evaluated by proffesionals located in the same country/city.

As we know internet is full of trolls. So in this first version each voice file will be evaluated per 3 different people and if the result is the same will be sent to the patient, If 2 results are equal and the other one not the result will be sent to the patient with an alert to repeat the test, or it will be sent to other proffesionals.

The solution’s impact to the crisis

This app will help to reduce hospitals saturations and reassuring patients in the first version.

The necessities in order to continue the project

More time to finish a MVP and release to the public After that: Language translations. Add more languages. Data transfer and store encryption ISO protections study Feasibility study. Make connections with stakeholders like public or private health institutions, etc.

After having a a lot of voice files with machine learning the evaluation could be done automatically to prevent other illnesses.

B2C - Free app

For primary care, the patient can schedule an appointment with a doctor (videoconference). The physician can see the symptons test and records over the time for a small fee. democratizing the health care. This functionality could work in countries or cities with poor or non-existent public health care where most medical records are stored in paper. In resume like a physicians market.
