XR Shopping Experience for Autonomous Robotic Store

Imagine an autonomous robotic store with an interactive AI avatar advertising and selling premium consumer products in real-time. That’s what we do at Staxel.

The project goal was to develop an interactive XR interface with an AI shopping assistant for Staxel.

Challenges

Without prior XR development experience, the main challenge was selecting the right development stack. After consulting with hackathon mentors and other participants, I decided to go the WebXR way and use the IWSDK framework.

What I learned

I learned how to develop a WebXR application for Meta Quest using Immersive Web SDK, became a pro in debugging XR applications, and tried a new vibe-coding IDE (Antigravity).

Final Results

I managed to build an end-to-end XR shopping experience with an AI shopping assistant avatar. I made two demo store environments: Meta AI glasses and Nothing smartphones.
