🧠 Status Bar — Life, Gamified.

Inspiration

Status Bar was born from a deep frustration with the current digital landscape. Despite using countless productivity tools — Trello, Notion, Discord, WhatsApp — we still felt fragmented, unrewarded, and disconnected from our own growth.

We asked:

“Why does life feel like a game with no XP bar? No karma system? No real-time reflection of who we are becoming?”

Inspired by RPGs, anime HUDs, and ancient frameworks of karma and discipline, we envisioned a system that merges evolution with game mechanics — a Gamified dashboard for life.

What it does

Status Bar is a real-time personal evolution engine. It transforms your daily life into an RPG-like experience where:

Every task gives XP
Your actions impact Karma
Skills are tracked and rewarded with SkillCoin
Streaks, Mood, Mission and Quests dynamically adapt to your current state
An AI agent monitors and guides your evolution journey

A future-ready voice interface is also on the roadmap to let users converse directly with their AI guide.

How we built it

We built the entire app using Bolt, a no-code platform for logic workflows. Every feature — from XP calculation to karma adjustments and streak logic — was structured in Bolt’s modular architecture.

Key tech components:

Supabase
- Stores all user data, task records, karma/XP logs, and a temporary SkillCoin ledger to track rewards even before blockchain integration.
Pica
- Powers agentic behavior, enabling your AI to observe your actions and generate appropriate quests, reflections, and nudges.
Eleven Labs (integration upcoming)
- Will enable voice-based interaction so users can speak with their AI agents, enhancing immersion and emotional connection.
Tavus (planned)
- A mascot-like AI version of the creator will onboard new users, explain mechanics, and offer motivational guidance in a personal way.

Challenges we ran into

Designing a Proof-of-Skill system that is fair, flexible, and future-proof for SkillCoin rewards.
Syncing XP, karma, mood, and agent behavior without traditional backend code.
Ensuring Supabase could act as a temporary on-chain ledger alternative with stability.
Architecting the voice interaction design, even before full integration, to align with future user flow and expectations.

What we learned

No-code can be deeply powerful if structured right — Bolt + Supabase gave us everything we needed.
Gamification drives real behavior change — streaks, levels, XP systems motivate people more than checklists ever did.
Voice interaction is a game-changer, and designing for it early helps future-proof the agent experience.
A unified system of self-evolution can be practical, beautiful, and emotionally impactful.
