Inspiration
Mainly the theme of the hackathon "art & technology" itself but also the air shows (by jet planes) and their thereby lack of customization.
What it does
Takes in a 3D model as input file and generates drone instructions to mimic the 3D shape or its animation (if implemented any)
How we built it
Using Blender's (awesome) API to read in a mesh's vertices and placing a drone at those positions. Simulation carries out using Godot the fabulous game engine.
Challenges we ran into
- Having to convert 3D models into something the computer can understand.
- Simulation failures and crashed. ## Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Carrying out successful simulations
- Generating lots of amazing drone shot (simulations) like pegasus coming from inside the ground and such ## What we learned
- Basics of 3D sculpting
- Lots of linear algebra
- Game engine and physics engine mechanics ## What's next for Static Art into Dynamic Life Implementing the said idea with real drones :)
