Inspiration

Social media is full of advice about the perfect morning routine, better sleep, productivity, and well-being. But people have different needs, schedules, and starting points. A habit that helps one person may do little for someone else.

StateLab starts with a simple question: how can you find out what actually works for you?

What it does

StateLab is designed to help people explore everyday habits through small, structured personal experiments.

The idea is simple:

  • Choose a habit or change you want to explore.
  • Record how you feel before making the change.
  • Try one change at a time and check in on your mood, energy, and focus.
  • Review your observations and decide whether the habit is worth keeping.

Over time, these observations can help you build a routine that fits your own life.

Why it matters

Popular advice can be a starting point, but it does not tell you how a habit will fit your circumstances.

StateLab encourages curiosity and reflection. Its goal is to help you move from “everyone says I should do this” to “I tried this, observed how I felt, and decided whether it works for me.”

Personal observations cannot prove cause and effect, but they can support more thoughtful everyday choices.

What's next

The next step is to develop and test a simple experiment flow, with quick daily check-ins and clear summaries that help users reflect on their experience.
