State Farm Small Business Connect

Inspiration

As a small business owner myself, navigating the world of business insurance was an unsure and lonely process. I did not know what kind of coverage I needed or who to talk to. Our aim is to bridge the gap and allow small business owners to explore what kind of coverages would be useful to them while explaining their business with natural language.

What it does

Our application extends functionality of the existing State Farm application and adds a new flow in the Business section of exploring a quote. Users can select from a variety of options including State Farm's Small Biz Quiz and Explore All BPO as well as our customized process. Once selected, users can describe what their businesses do and provide as many details as they would like. This input is analyzed by our ML model that matches the users needs with all coverages State Farm offers. Users can add or remove coverages as they would like. The final step is using the coverage information to match users with agents who are experts in those respective fields.

How we built it

We utilized Swift, OpenAI API, and Python to parse user data and run our models.
