The observed speeds are 10% lower than the scheduled speeds. As a result, buses, even when they start on time, get delayed at the end of the route. The average delay at the end of a route, for all stops and times, varies by the number of stops a route has, by over 4 minutes. By updating the GTFS schedule to the latest speeds on the ground, schedule adherence can be improved and delays can be reduced, for free.
